How long has the CFUW Garden Tour been running and why does it matter?
The CFUW Town & Country Garden Tour celebrates its 27th anniversary in 2026, making it one of Belleville's most enduring community fundraising traditions. Inspired by traditional English garden tours, it has evolved from featuring outdoor tents to utilizing the spacious, air-conditioned St. Thomas' Church Hall where volunteers can serve hot lunches comfortably. The tour matters because all proceeds directly support the CFUW Belleville & District Scholarship Trust Fund. Founded locally in 1939 with 56 charter members, the club has been offering scholarships for decades. Today, it awards 15 scholarships valued at over $30,000 annually to local high school graduates pursuing post-secondary education, plus additional scholarships to Loyalist College students. Supporting this event means directly supporting local education access.
